Makeover

Well, here she is!  My mom's old armoire that I rescued from her damp, old basement.  She came back to Florida and sat in my garage for a bit, then moved to a spare room and became a hold it all for crafts.  Five years later I decided that she needed a makover.  I found this blog that told about this product.  I love the outcome.  I had to do a little repair work on her before painting, such as using a wood filler to fill in the wood that was lifting on top of her and various other places.  The CC directions said to squish, squash the paint hapharzardly.  That's what I did.  On the basecoat I used pumpkin, then used a chipping cream, then peppercorn, sanded, toner and satin poly.  I love her!!  My friend Grace said that her husband is an excellent artist, so he said that he will paint the flowers onto her front, taken from the original. 

Sunday Scripture

Went to church today and as always I learn!  Today was out of Acts 20 Leadership Conference at Miletus!  Can you imagine Pastor speaking to us and teaching us like we are all leaders?  Well, he did!  Leaders are meant to serve, not sit.  Jesus served when HE was here, not have others serve HIM.  The bible teaches us to serve the Lord with humility Acts 20:19.  We can do this at home, the workplace, as a church member, as a spouse, to our children.  WOW!  Did you know that it is better to be weaker?  When we are weak HE is stronger!  As we serv,e the Lord breaks selfishness!  A whole lot to think about this week.....

December Daily 2010 Digital Layered Templates & Overlays

I am really tempted to try this. I did it last year but in hybrid form and I really love it. Don't know if I can handle it this year or not yet. The goal is to get as much prep work done BEFORE December, so that during the really busy days of the season you are just taking pictures, printing them and sticking them into your album. I would like to try all digital although I love the feel and textures of the hybrid album.

We went to the Gungor concert while in NC and I have to say that they were truly incredible.  They put on an amazing worship concert.  I fell in love with this song, "Beautiful Things"  Give a listen and let me know what you think!  Turn mine off at the bottom right in order to hear this.

Family and Treasure!

We are back home from visiting Chick 2 and family.  We had an incredible time!  Look at our new little grandson, is he precious or what??

Fiesta Ware!  I bought 9 plates at an antique shop in Wilmington, NC for $25.  Not too shabby!

Cottage Crafts - This is where I purchased my treasures at.  Love this place!  This used to be a school for African Americans back when segregation was going on.  It once was just a one room school house and the name on the top of the building says "Browntown."  How sad that all that went on!  I have found so many treasures here since Chick 2 and her family moved to this town. 

Traveling North

We are headed tomorrow to North Carolina to visit Chick 2 and family!  Gonna get to see that sweet little new baby boy plus the other boys too.  So happy!  See you next week!
